Today i attended a Trinny London masterclass, lead by John Corcoran - chief makeup artist for Trinny, focused on the three BFF makeup bases the brand currently has. I learned about main differences between the products and application tips. And got to play with the products myself and see them in action on my own skin.
If you are looking to purchase Trinny London products from Ireland, you have a couple of options. Brown Thomas has counters in store and where you can book makeovers and get color matched. Or if you aren’t close to a BT, you can shop online on TrinnyLondon and use their very accurate shade finder called Match2Me.
Lets discuss the BFF franchise, starting from the lightest coverage to the fullest.
BFF SPF30 Skin Perfector link
If you need to get your skin looking hydrated and dewy really quickly, this is the product for you. Great as a primer or worn by itself, it contains micro-spheres of pigment that burst on contact with the skin. Leaving an even out skin tone, great to reduce redness. Best way to apply it is to simply use your fingers. One universal shade.
BFF De-Stress Tinted Serum link
Best selling product and Trinny’s favorite. It was created as an aid for stressed skin - redness, acne and it has a particular ingredient - NP-TriOX™ that helps to lower the symptoms of high cortisol in the skin.
With a buildable, light to medium coverage and a dewy finish - BFF De-stress will look like you have great skin, rather good makeup on. For a perfect application warm up some product up on the back of your hand and then start applying on the face with your fingers, starting from the middle of the face going outwards. 12 shades available in the range.
BFF All Day Foundation link
If you are looking for a medium to full coverage foundation, this is the one for you. When Trinny does any photo-shoots or TV slots, this is the foundation that is used on her skin.
18 shades, matte natural finish and long lasting. Contains niacinamide and ceramides to help smooth out the texture and fine lines. Best way to apply it is dot first with your fingers and then perfect the finish with a damp Beauty Blender.
John actually mainly uses his fingers for application - it gives a natural coverage by melting the texture of the products into the skin and then just bounce a Beauty Blender to give that flawless finish.
You could use the BFF SPF 30 under the All Day foundation if you want to add more radiance or just use it by itself.
Which BFF is calling to you most? i loved the SPF 30 + All Day foundation combo, ideal for a long day in work. Check my Instagram to see how each one looks on my skin.
